Viewing

Viewing is available at our saleroom the day before the auction, from 12pm - 5pm. You are welcome to pop down and take a look at all of the items that will be sold over both days of our sale. Our full catalogue is available to view online, on easyliveauction.com/whittakerandbiggs 

 

Ways to bid

 

In-Room bidding

Our auction is now open for in-room bidding, and we welcome you to join us on auction days from 8:45am, with the auction starting at 9:00am. Simply pop in to the office, and one of our friendly team will be happy to register you, and get your paddle ready. You are welcome to collect items purchased in our sale until 5pm on Friday, and 1pm on Saturday, and our friendly team will be available all day to assist you with loading any items that you've won. 

Internet Bidding

Our auctions are broadcast online, attracting buyers from all over the world. With live streaming video and audio being provided the auction can be experienced 'as it happens' both from the comfort of your own home or via your smartphone from anywhere across the globe (as long as you have a good internet connection!). We are open for viewings on the Thursday before the sale, from 12 - 5pm. Our friendly staff will be available during the viewing to assist with any questions you may have regarding items within our auction, and you are welcome to come and have a browse on our viewing day, with no appointment necessary.

Commission Bid

You are welcome to leave a bid with us and the auctioneer will bid on your behalf.

Telephone Bids

We offer telephone bidding on any lot that's valued at £100.00 or above.

 

Before placing a bid

 

Condition reports

We offer condition reports on all lots in our auction and recommend requesting a condition report before bidding. Please remember it is the buyers responsibility to satisfy themselves with the condition of the lot. Further images can be provided upon request, and you are welcome to view the items on our viewing day. 

Registration

Buyers need to register before bidding. This can be done through Easyliveauction.com, through our website or with our office in person prior to the auction. 

Buyers Premium

A buyers premium of 24% (including VAT) is payable in addition to the hammer price. For example if the bid price is £100, it will cost you £124.00 (this includes buyers premium and VAT).

 

After bidding

 

Payment

We no longer accept cash or cheque payments, we only accept all major credit/debit cards, (except American Express) or bank transfers. 

Collection

All items must be paid for and collected by 5PM on the Tuesday following the auction, after which the Buyers premium is increased to 22% plus VAT and storage charges will also be applied.

Postage and Packaging

We are now in partnership with Post It 4 Me, who will be happy to provide you with a quote to post your items. Please forward any postage requests over to their team for our trade discount, along with the lot numbers, a link to our catalogue and your full name and address, and they will be happy to help.

Please note that Whittaker & Biggs accept no responsibility for the postage, packaging or delivery of any items, and any issues or queries must be directed to Post It 4 Me. Insurance on higher value items is available on request, and you would be welcome to forward this request over to Post It 4 Me.
